Our Mission

The mission of the Bunnell Police Department is to safeguard life and property, preserve the peace, prevent and detect crime, enforce the law, and protect the rights of all citizens. We are committed to working in partnership with the community, to identify and resolve issues that impact safety.

A History of Service to the Community

The Bunnell Police Department began its service to the citizens of Bunnell in 1913 and was formed by utilizing a single officer called the Town Marshal. The City of Bunnell’s first Town Marshal was Ernest Walter Johnston. The Town Marshal worked out of the Bunnell City Hall located at 200 South Church Street.
